View this email in your browser Welcome to our Newsletter! At last! It’s finally HERE! You waited such a long, long time for this and The Chitans Newsletter is finally here. 🙌 Praise the Lord! We hope this newsletter will keep you informed, spiritually fed, challenged and will brighten your day. Thank you for your patience. We look forward to a great time! Q & A Q: Who are The Chitans and how did they get started? A: We are a family in full-time ministry from Toronto, Canada with a Caribbean (Grenadian) background. The members of the family consist of Layne (Dad), Karen (Mom), Kaiziah, Kayandra, L. Jesse, L. Jayden and Karlainah. We learned about God, singing and harmonies through family worship. At a very tender age, Kaiziah started singing in churches, hospitals, nursing homes and prisons. We never thought we would be a singing group, but we ended up having our singing debut for the surprise birthday party of our grandmother, Felicity Chitan, in October of 2006. Two years we later we sang publicly for the second time in Kaiziah’s fundraising concert for our Pathfinder club’s trip to Oshkosh, Wisconsin. After that, our singing ministry started. God has graciously blessed us to sing in many different places. He’s also blessed us to start other ministries to serve various communities in different capacities. Do you have any questions for us? You may have thought that the big announcement was the newsletter (if you did, goal accomplished!), but here’s the true announcement! The new album is HERE! We are very excited let you know that our new album, "Shoulder to Shoulder" is now available for you to pre-save, pre-add and pre-order! We've put quite a lot of work into this album and we are very pleased to finally be able to share it with you all. We are believing that many will be blessed, encouraged, informed and challenged by the songs on this new album. The album will be released Friday, September 30, 2022, but until then, keep your eye on our YouTube channel for sneak peaks and to hear about the process of making this new album. Reserve Here Upcoming Dates Friday, August 19, we will be at the “Voices of Peace Gospel Fest” in Hilbert, Wisconsin all day along with 27 other artistes. Tuesday, August 23, we will be at the Ark Encounter for "40 Days and Nights of Gospel Music". You can expect singing, preaching and some good gospel comedy! See more dates Joke of the Day! (Answer below) Biblical Thought Mirrored Lights Bible Verse: 1 John 1:7 KJV, "but if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin." As Christians, we have one of the greatest responsibilities ever given to man, to spread the Gospel. We have the opportunity to let people know what an awesome God we serve and how much He loves us. To share Jesus with others, we must be following Him and walking in the light of God. We cannot tell people about God, but not know Him for ourselves. We cannot show people the love of God without knowing His love. We cannot tell others to follow Jesus if we are not following Him. We need to walk in the light for others to see His light through us. Our actions and words should draw men and women to Christ, but to do that, we must reflect His light. Jesus said in Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." If you take a mirror and hold it up to a light, it will reflect the light it receives. Even if the mirror was once dirty, when it is cleaned, the light shines as if it was never dirty. This verse promises that once we are walking in the light, Christ's blood cleanses us from our sins. We can share the good news with others unhindered because our sins no longer smudge us. Let us continue to walk in the light so our words and works reflect our heavenly Father as we go throughout the world. Kayandra Joke of the Day Answer! He was….Ruthless!!!
